    There’s a reason that “Old Yeller” is Garfield’s favorite movie.

    “Old Yeller” made me cry too. I remember putting my head on my mother’s shoulder and soaking her dress with my tears when I saw the film. There’s been a remake and I avoid seeing it because of the sad ending. Bucky isn’t entirely wrong though he thinks it’s about the dog shouting. Satchel should avoid seeing it – it’s too sad.

    @Tacopielvr

    Why are you entitled to new strips? Do you pay separately for them? It’s free on the Internet and as part of a newspaper, they are just filler. Get real, man.

    “Must be nice to be that good to take off so much time just for the heck of it.”

    Not everyone works a full time job. Maybe this is just a sideline for him. Are you his boss? Where do people get off thinking they are “owed” something.

    It’s a comic strip for god’s sake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Unless you’ve done the work of churning out a good comic strip every day, year after year, maybe you should stop and think just how much effort it requires to keep producing quality work for a long time. I’d just as soon he took time off to refresh himself than seeing this strip turn into stale, unfunny, repetitive crapola.

    Yes, and it is quite cheap. I don’t mean price wise, and I wouldn’t be surpised if it was made in China. I wouldn’t feed insects anything made in China, including insects.

    Is Bucky ill? He’s being nice to Satchel. Or is it just to say “I told you so” when Satchel breaks down at the end of the movie that he watched in defiance of Bucky.

    Old Yeller, the original Lassie Come Home and The Three Lives of Thomasina (1963 British movie about a vet, his daughter and her cat). .Which is why I knew NOT to go see the movie War Horse. Didn’t want to bawl.

    I’m surprised no one mentioned The Yearling.

    I’m glad Darby has returned. I wonder how his deadline schedule works. I was reading about Berkeley Breathed’s tribulations with regards to getting his strips delivered on time. I hope Darby doesn’t nearly kill himself like Berkeley did.

    @taco, you must not read doonsbury..But frankly i’d rather see a few re-runs than have it switch to Sun only al la Foxtrot or turn old and stale just to keep “new material”

    A new comic—woo hoo!

    And between the “no respect” and “ravioli” lines, this strip is definitely one of the better “Get Fuzzy” ones I’ve seen in a long while … rerun or new.

    Welcome back, Darby and Bucky. I’ve missed you.

    One movie I’ll never watch again is “Where the Red Fern Grows”. I BAWLED and sunk into a real depression over that one.
