I would say the accomplishments and the dignity showed by 42 (Jackie Robinson) in the environment he lived through will overshadow Collins coming out of the closet, especially in the PC era we live in now. Wikipedia said it best about Jackie Robinson:
“The example of Robinson’s character and unquestionable talent challenged the traditional basis of segregation, which then marked many other aspects of American life, and contributed significantly to the Civil Rights Movement.”
@deerflatenerHmmmm, I know many highly qualified homosexual pilots. some are military. Interesting fictional story you wrote.I guess it’s a good thing dinosaurs like you are dying out.
@coloradoRonfear not. when sexual orientation is forced upon everyone and everyone is forced into homosexual relations so that it’s considered normal (as deerflatner proposes), robinson will be remembered and Collins will just be a distant footnote in history.

And unfortunately it’s always been AFTER their playing days are over. I hope this changes things, but I doubt Mr. Collins will get a movie.
