Yes, I think le-roy is right, the rabbits are sitting backstage waiting for their moment to appear, in whatever illusion comes next. I think it’s supposed to be a statement about magicians who use a lot of rabbits in their act, but I don’t know of anyone offhand who uses more than a couple.

I think it’s just a behind-the-scenes look at how magic tricks are really done. Kind of like Hollywood – not as glamorous as it looks to the audience.
