Ima, you live in America. It would behoove you to learn how America works before making such a fool of yourself. Everything you say may be true. It may be false reporting by the horrible lying liberal media — how would you know? The evidence will be presented to a jury. There will be presentations by professional lawyers on both sides, to make absolutely sure that it’s fair. If the evidence convinces the jury, then he’s guilty. If the evidence is not conclusive, than he’s innocent. The government can imprison him, but it can’t kill him before he’s had a trial. You, of all people, who hate and distrust the government of our country, should be leery of giving it the powers you’re calling for.
Some years back in Toronto there was a nurse, Susan Nelles, at Sick Kids’ Hospital, who was charged with multiple counts of murder because the police felt that a larger than reasonable number of kids on her ward were dying. She was convicted in the press, but when the case came to court, it turned out that they didn’t even have enough evidence to justify a trial.+Then there was a fellow named Guy Paul Morin, who was charged with murdering a little girl who lived down the road from him. I distinctly remember my sister-in-law, who was a crown attorney, saying at dinner one night that the case against him was air tight. He was convicted. Well, it turns out he didn’t do it, and he was released eventually.+I’ve given Canadian examples, because I remember them. It would be easy to give examples from the US.+If the evidence against Tsarnaev is so strong, then there will be a conviction. But everyone deserves a fair trial, even those who seem to be obviously guilty.
Just calling attention to the “Patriot Act”, and “Military Commissions Act” , and the right-wing effort to do away with multiple portions of the Bill of Rights.
