Hey, Scooby-Doo’s nephew Scrappy-Doo in the third panel; puppy power! (I remember “The Snorks” as well.)

Of course, the original Bugs Bunny cartoons were really meant for adults (OR smart babies……….)

I loved those, and He-man/She-ra and Thunder Cats and Voltron and Jem…. But then I made the mistake of seeing some of them on Netflix, my TV memories were ruined, I don’t think I realized just how BAD some of that was…. Though my Muppets were still okay.

Not sure how old the dad is supposed to be, but I’m 30 and this isn’t quite accurate for critters my age. By the 1980s local channels all across the country had gotten wise to the profits to be made with weekday syndication, and cartoon monopoly that the Big Three networks had been holding over Saturday mornings for the prior twenty years was smashed. Cartoons were EVERYWHERE during the 80s and 90s, and kids my age were the beneficiaries. Sadly, that’s all gone now, with corporate mergers and other factors virtually eliminating the first-run syndication market AND the Saturday morning network niche.
