Walt, I’ll give him this. He didn’t suspend the constitution and declare Cheney President for life.

Ongaurd, surely you jest! He is responsible for the deaths of 3000 Americans on 9/11. How was he keeping us safe? He should have been fired for criminal incompetence and made to stand trial.

Not keeping track, are you?9/11 WAS during Bush’s term. Remember that CIA briefing that warned Bush: “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” — 36 days before Sept. 11. Bush’s response to the briefer giving him the news? To say, “All right. You’ve covered your ass, now.” Then he went fishing. Literally. Conor Friedersdorf writes:“Bush’s tenure included anthrax attacks that killed five people (more than died in the Boston marathon bombing) and that injured between 22 and 68 people. Bush was president when Hesham Mohamed Hadayet killed two and wounded four at an LAX ticket counter; when the Beltway snipers killed 10 people; when Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar injured six driving his SUV into a crowd; and when Naveed Afzal Haq killed one woman and shot five others in Seattle.”Also, there was the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen, just before the 2000 election, which should have brought an extra warning about the al-Qaida threat, and later on, bombings in London, Madrid, and Jordan. Meanwhile, thanks to the wars there, much of the attention from international terror went to Iraq and Afghanistan, where al-Qaida and sympathetic groups found it easier to kill American soldiers than to attack Americans on U.S. soil.

    So, no, you’re wrong.

Nope, because Bush didn’t really do very much to reduce terrorism at all. What he did was create many, many more potential terrorists by his inappropriate and ridiculous wars that did nothing to catch Osama bin Laden, but did a lot to alienate people in the Mideast.

Not accurate, I’m afraid. What we got was an increasing gap between rich and poor, an increase in the number of poor (the economy collapsed in Bush’s administration, remember?), a huge debt that is largely attributable to Bush’s Tax Cuts for the Rich and a useless war, the same healthcare problems we had for years before, global allies fearing us and NEW enemies developed by Bush, and a semi-functioning Congress because DEMOCRATS were willing to work with their colleagues instead of being immature idiots refusing to listen to the people they supposedly represent.Your interpretation of the economic crash is simply so far wrong I can’t find a place to begin. If you ask a real economist, you will find that removing legal constraints and regulations, especially on banks (starting with Reagan), was one of the largest contributing factors; killing regulation of derivatives was the biggest short-term factor — and that was killed by the GOP.Afghanistan and Iraq cost less than Obamacare? What planet are YOU on?

onguard: Everything that has happened after 9/11 happened after 9/11. Post hoc ergo propter hoc is a logical fallacy, or did they teach what to think rather than how to think in your school?

There is a difference – the remarks on Obama IS mostly of racist nature, and isn´t just “noting faults”.

Seriously? You compare 2900-plus dead on 9/11/2001 to twenty dead (none in Times Square)???? Bush made nothing safe except Cheney’s bank account, and the bank accounts of right-wing oligarchs like the Koch Brothers

Actually, we would all be better off if we ignored the trolls (Ms. Ima, HOWGOZIT, Gore Bane, onguard, etc.) … all they do is spew the same one-and-two-line bulsit on each page — rants that get under the skin of right-minded people … consider that either (1) none of them care any more than to hit-and-run like most who spray grafitti on any blank space, and don’t really care what anybody thinks, or (2) some right-wing/Tea Party sugah dadda pays them to spew this garbage, making them low-life freeloaders, just as they accuse everybody who actually employs actual thought processes before posting on the Internet.

I would be VERY interested to see a DD214 proving more than three months of honorable service from any of these right-wing trolls … but I expect that could never happen …

Just a couple of cents from a 20-year USMC (Ret) who earned a master’s degree in something other than a redneck agenda …
