Maybe following a religion started by a 7th century warlord isn’t the best idea? Just sayin’.

Not sure anyone is blaming innocent Muslims. Didn’t they get caught this time?

Those “Innocent Muslims” should be weeding their own gardens. Do not leave it up to the rest of the world to find and remove the “radicals”.For sure, we can’t tell the difference.

Not all tigers kill humans, but enough of them do kill humans that it is prudent to be wary of all tigers. Tigers cannot change their stripes but “innocent Muslims” have the ability to change Islam’s “stripes” by repudiating and driving out the violent elements of their religion.

They haven’t been especially quiet. Read the comments above & tell me if you think all Americans are especially willing to listen?“Neither suspect has been to Yusuf Mosque, nor would any such individuals be welcome here,” said Imam Ibrahim Rahim, leader of the mosque in Brighton. “Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims, the wounded, and their families.”_"Fayed Khan, president of the Downtown Islamic Center, said even if the suspects claimed Islam as their world view, “their actions indicate they’re not Muslim.”

“It will be condemned to the ultimate extent,” Khan said, the urgency in his voice so intense his words ran together.“__“These acts are categorically condemned in the Quran and by the Muslim majority,” he said. “Muslims have to begin to speak out against these acts more assertively and collaborate with other faiths and local governments so that the true tenets of our faith can be known. In the future, we need to do a better job countering it by educating the public against those who are ignorant and evil and hijack our faith.” __”Tahir Ali, spokesman for the Worcester Islamic Center, said the brothers were “Columbine and Virginia Tech whackos” whose acts reflect badly on the 3 billion Muslims worldwide.

“Religion doesn’t tell you to do that,” Mr. Ali said. “They are making a peaceful religion look bad.”

Ziad Ramadan, chairman of the board for the center, said all Americans need to unite.

“There is no question we condemn it and feel for the families and victims,” Mr. Ramadan said.

He said he is also heartbroken over the shooting death of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer Thursday night. "_Hundreds more news articles listed on Google, none of them front page stories.

Christians need to condemn and apologize for the acts of Christian terrorists in India, Anders Breivik in Norway (the guy who killed 69 teenagers in Norway), and the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda, right?

No, religion itself is not the problem. Hundreds of millions of the faithful of ALL beliefs, including Islam, practice their faith peacefully. The fact remains, however inconvenient it may be, that the majority of terrorist acts are being committed by Muslims. Until that changes, either because Muslims stop blowing up people or because some other group becomes the more common culprit, Islam will be viewed with suspicion and caution.

To expand on my earlier one-word reply, I consider it the duty of moderates of all religions to repudiate and drive out those who advocate violence against others. Thus far “radical Christianity”, with few exceptions, doesn’t advocate violence and those exceptions ARE repudiated. Even the loathsome Westboro Baptist group doesn’t tell it’s members to go out and kill in the name of Christ.

It is impossible for sane people to defend religious extremists from Islam, Judaism, Christianity (hmm all bible religions) or the brutality practiced against women in Hindu countries. Hmmm, ever notice how flower passing Bahai, or peaceful monks setting fire to THEMSELVES to protest evil, such as in Viet Nam in 65, are derided by bible thumpers seeking Armageddon?

Islamist terrorists are to normal Muslims as the Westboro Baptist Church is to normal Christians. Not representative and not welcomed.

“Cleaning up the morass…” like Christians, apparently the masses are not as newsworthy as the few. Peace be with us all…

They are following a basic tenet of their religion that calls for war against those who are not Muslim. Be glad the majority of Muslims follow a sect that is more peaceful. Ev en the peaceful Muslims are afraid of the violent sect, and with good reason. They are as likely to be beheaded as a Christian of Jew.
