Last time someone made that kind of stupid comment I told him how much I was sending every year and listed the name of every single one. I love to see people try to pry their foot out of their mouth.

I know that this is just a cartoon however, boys and girls, you should know that our know it all leaders left behind most of our beloved scout dogs in Vietnam to be eaten by the IP’s or to die in the jungle.

Only a very few of these highly trained animals made it back to CONUS. (Continental United States).

These dogs saved thousands of G.I.‘s lives and didn’t deserve that fate.

Check the history of the 48th Infantry Platoon Scout Dog for the facts.

God bless those great dogs and their handlers. .

To get back to the cartoon, I think the point is that we sometimes put too much emphasis on our own pets, to the point that we are spending money on things that make absolutely no difference to them. Perhaps Adrian is asking those of us who have limited funds to reconsider where they could be best spent. I love dogs and cats, even those who don’t live in my house. Sarge,I am sure you are happy to see the policies in the military change to bring our working dogs back and even allow dog friends, who have also helped our soldiers in many ways, to return with them to the States. I even read about some form of airplane transportation that volunteers are offering free of charge to bring these dogs home. You often find these uplifting stories in Best Friends Magazine. You can read it online. Also a member of Best Friends
