Yes, Harley. Your comment is indeed a fail.As for the cartoon, we don’t need to go there with the growing number of mass shootings. The US is no stranger to terrorism perpetrated by its own citizens. The Oklahoma City bombing was carried out by Americans against their own country, and let’s not forget about the Unibomber. Then there is all the nastiness that was carried out during the civil rights movement and before that. Lynchings, cross burnings, and setting churches on fire were acts of terrorism.

And the Atlanta Olympics bombing? That was Muslim terrorists? Right?Nope. Homegrown Pro-life, Anti-Gay, white dude. The US has had more bombings by Right-Wing “Conservative” Extremists than by Radical Muslim groups. So any new bombing must be made by… “Radical Muslim Groups: They’re just trying to catch up!”

Well Jim, Most Americans do not target other Americans. You are correct; however, you forgot to mention it’s the deranged Americans who can always find ways to get a gun who kill other Americans.

race, religion, sex, etc do not matter in the case of someone who kills someone else….they are all classified as murderers.

I don’t know who ever said Americans don’t target Americans – we all know that sadly, it’s true. But evidence so far shows that it’s mostly extremist Muslims who do use this kind of bomb. So if Morin’s suggesting we’re bigots if we look into the involvement of extremist Muslims (& don’t forget that extremist Muslims don’t exactly advertise their extremism; they try to say and appear that they’re mainstream), it makes no sense. Why even waste time drawing this toon?

Unfortunately the sad truth is we will be hit again. It will happen sooner or later. It will probably be sooner than later.

There are two reasons why we will be hit again. First, we have a determined enemy who hates us. Second, we have a government that is not committed to protecting America.

It is a pretty safe bet right now that this attack was carried out by an Islamist. It was a well-coordinated attack. In its publication, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula called for just this kind of attack.

    Judson Smith, Tea-Party Nation

Smith later goes on to say we need the “Reagan Strategy.” Does that mean he thinks we should sell MORE missile parts to Iran?

Do you honestly think liberals speak more hate towards others than the “others” speak towards liberals? I could name many commenters on here that express extreme hate, including you with this comment.

Except for 911 (if you believe the rhetoric) all domestic “terrorist” actions were all committed by Americans…

Just trying to understand why do we hate each other so much to cause this kind of pain…

“Jim, I don’t recall anybody claiming that Americans don’t target other Americans. Perhaps for Oaklaoma City, but not since then.”

Colorodo Batman shooting, Sandy Hooks, the First Responder Sniper. Yup, Americans don’t target other Americans.

“So will liberals now call for background checks before people are allowed to buy a pressure cooker?”

A pressure cooker’s intended purpose is cook food under pressure. A gun, on the other hand, is intended to hurt, maime, or kill another individual and thus it is regulated. Your question is as silly as arming elementary students with guns to fight off crazies who enter their school armed.

“I expect it is a muslim. You should bet with the odds.”

    And your proof is….

The Oklahoma bomber was Tim McVay. I was talking to a black inmate at the penitentiary where I worked at the time and we were discussing it. I said Middle East terrorists? and he said “no, Miss Sue, the white folks did this one.” I think the Militia did this one.

Just a note: committing suicide, with a gun or not, is legally considered a criminal homicide.
