The massacre in Boston has, I think, had a more visceral impact on us than did the bombing of the twin towers. At least, for me. The unfolding drama of 9/11 was a sustained and chilling horror; the massacre in Boston, like that in Newtown, has hit us all in a far different way. Recovering from acts of terrorism, rage, and sickness like them – designed only to kill and maim at random – will be much more difficult. I feel sick to my stomach.
