Are those studies done by the same organizations that were predicting global cooling in the 70s? Do some reading—more climate experts think we are in for cooling than warming. And the vast majority don’t think man has much to do with any of it. Most serious, non-political types think it has something to do with that giant ball of hot gas that is 93 million miles away.

At least they acknowledge climate change exists…

I suggest you people do your reading before you do your writing. Actually, the global cooling hysteria started in the 1960s. My father, who died in 1967 showed me an article in Scientific American where it was speculated that we were just in a warm period in the middle of an ice age, and there were various articles around about how we might manage to keep the earth warm. Years later, the anthropomorphic global warming myth became popular, and Al Gore found out how to use it to become rich. The latest science shows how solar activity affects the earth’s temperature. PhoebeDog is absolutely correct.

Balderdash! Carefully study the heating and cooling of the earth, and you will find that it correlates nicely with solar activity.

What was actually being said in the 1970s about “global cooling.”

Please be sure to check out the further links at the bottom of that page.

Short answer, though, PheobeDog is not correct; and the solar output and temperature trends also parted ways about 30 years ago.
