Everyone who works pays into Social Security and Medicare! It doesn’t add a dime to the debt. and besides, Obama Promised! Not to mess with Social Security. Why do so many people vote for leaders who have their minds made up to protect the wealthy. So many big Corporations owe taxes, just like the rest of us?? People are so afraid that a few people will get help who don’t deserve it, when in reality there are so many people who don’t even get enough to eat!The government doesn’t supply hearing aides to those that need them. The government doess never paid for abortions! There are too many LIES about free stuff that is non-existant!

The cartoon shows my own perception. Mr. Obama in the middle reaching out harder to the right than to the left.Everyone will see it in from their own slant. The events in Boston yesterday should serve to remind us that when disaster happens, we are not Democrat or Republican, we’re Americans and we’re neighbors. My prayers and thoughts are with those who were harmed or had loved ones who were harmed. My niece had walked past the site of the first explosion one hour earlier.Gratefully,C.

The Republicans are the party of NO when it comes to tax hikes, but the party of HELL YES when it comes to helping others or stabilizing our infrastructure. Except for the pipeline for overseas shipping of Canadian tar sands oil. And the balance of the “tax hikes” were BUSH’S tax cuts that were supposed to expire. Enough already. Start governing, not obstructing!

Totally respect that Mike. My Nine Issues upon which I base my votes were the reason I voted FOR Mr. Obama in 2008. They became the reasons I voted AGAINST Mr. Romney in 2012. Mr. Obama moved too far to the right for me in respect to my issues, so I was unable to vote FOR him that time. But as I said in my comment, that’s my perception.^Would love to know what your nine issues are. You are one of the best commentators when it comes to research and citations. You raise the level of the debate and set a very good example of a moderate. My “public” email is sanesaint@hotmail.com It’s been good for carrying on the discussion outside of the “sandbox”.Thank you, Mike.Sincerely Respectful,C.

No, they did not touch the entitlements. The democrats went after social security instead.

Give it up. Cheney, Bush and Rumsfeld did not commit warcrimes. You are like most ignorant liberals, chanting the propoganda without knowing what constitutes a war crime. The Taliban and Al-Queda fall under the heading or war criminals.

Since I have paid, and will continue to pay for SS and Medicare, I am ENTITLED to it. Repubs want more money for defense, yet won’t force DOD to reform. Early April Federal Times article that Lockheed charged $17K for an $8 part, available through thegovernment itself. Luckily an auditor caught it (later!),. and Lockheed finally paid it back! But it shows that DOD still can’t figure out its acquisitions, and it is still unable, despite years of Congressional pressure,to come up with a clean audit. Maybe we should zero out defense each tear, and let them reapply, just like a grant.
