I am a little sick to my stomach. It is because I lived 5 years with adult abuse. It is easy for them to make you think and do what THEY want. Room , food, my car, my credit card and that my faithful friends were shoved away. I was very close to suicide. My sister rescued me in one month had moved me to another city, a home of my own, and proper medical help. Bless the goddess for her and my NOW friends.Blessed Be

OK Down to facts… Aaron you know a whole lot more about human thoughts, feelings, wounds and mistakes. We are carefully taught. Even without being aware it. You express this deep knowledge very well. And I may cry anyway. What you have given us today is aught ( 1 everything 2 anything) about humans. Thank you.Blessed Be

So allgood would badger and wear folks down to believe HIS purpose. But I guess he doesn’t see the hypocracy in his statements.

“Allgood in panel 4 reminds me of those who are afraid the “the Gay” can be taught to children in Boy Scout troops.”Actually, I think this is closer to dealing with women that have been reluctantly talked into wife swapping by their husbands. Allgood is confronting Maude regarding ongoing behavior that she’s still not happy with herself about.

Ugh. I am really starting to hate this story line. I detest allgood, and I’m sure that’s Aaron’s intention, but I get enough of this from real world jerks. I don’t need this in something I read for entertainment.

Actually, talking about “bestial behavior”, wait until Allgood goes after Walt for his “let’s play fishing” games. That will open an all new can of worms.

If it’s true Maude’s low self esteem got her to accept her “cow-ness”, Allgood is using it now, to opposite effect. I hope she is strong.

Hmm… Badgering the witness and he doesn’t even have the decency to do it with a real badger. Or a Badger Anthro..@Bruno Zeigerts. He ought to be torn into itsy bitsy pieces and buried alive..Seems more likely that Maude was lonely depressed and withdrawn. And her husband came and drew her out of her funk and herself. And she learned to live again..He probably has more friends and is more active now than when she was purely physical human..That would be the opposite of abuse to me..Death to mutedrome.Long live the new flesh.

The square peg of reality will never fit into the round hole of [Algood’s] prejudices, but he keeps a-hammering away. Maude’s a tough mutant bovine, but she’s been hit in a way that further exposes Algood’s caddishness.

If this had been a public trial, I’d expect Gustine to say a few words on this subject right now… mind you, I might expect her to bust through the wall in a few minutes. She knows where these rooms are. Intimately.

Ah, Mr Allgood? I don’t think it’s wise to irritate the already highly stressed cow/person. Those horns on her head aren’t there to help hold her hat on. I imagine Maude may be very close to opening a one cow can of stampede all over the prosecution’s face… ;-)

Yesterday I wondered if Maude might have gotten to Allgood, made him question his beliefs on “human values”, but it seems that he is so hardwired in his convictions that it would take a lot to make him think beyond them.I don’t like the way he’s making Maude cry, I hope she fires back something good at that $#$#!@ Jerk!!!

Allgood in panel 4 reminds me of those who are afraid the “the Gay” can be taught to children in Boy Scout troops..Surf, let’s not go there OK? It’s just possible that that particular issue may be a bit more complicated than the most vocal on either side seem to be able to convey.

Awesome transfer of moral delima coupled with fear and anguish to a four panal-a-day story. Calling Endtown a “Comic” at a time like this is extreme irony. I can’t resist pointing out that a lot of the the uncomfortable ET readers will follow Aaron through this because we trust his values and intent. Humans can endure quite a bit if we believe in an ultimate Love and Justice that will win out in the end.

Poor Maude, Allgood’s got her just about at the breaking point. I suspect Jackrabbitson will bolster her back up again though. Either that, or Allgood’s going to learn what happens when you make a cow angry.

As much as I hate to admit it, he does have a solid argument there. I don’t believe it to be true, but I can’t personally argue it either. And here I thought he’d be EASY to shoot down…

“Would a woman of low self esteem have continued to engage in the deviant life style after the passing of her husband?”It’s not something I have personal experience with. But if she self-identifies with the behavior, or it’s something she does “out of respect for the husband’s memory”, I wouldn’t be surprised by it. Anything that starts with “You’d do it if you loved me…” is manipulative by nature.

Yesterday I said that a good lawyer never asked a question without knowing the answer. It appears that Allgood was expecting the type of response that he got from Maude, and already knew how he wanted to address it. I think her comment that giving the milk is her “purpose” is playing right into his hands.

@Sciphi – I agree that Allgood does have a solid argument. And the “slippery slope” of something going from being a “choice” to a “duty” is one to be avoided. As Nabuquduriuzhur pointed out, that can, and often does lead to a form of slavery.

for the record, Pandas are known for being very antisocial, not tolerating the company of anything other than their mate, and even then only when in season. It’s part of the reason why they’re so endangered.

These are humans that are now outwardly animal but still human on the inside. They have to reconcile their human emotions with the reality of their animal bodies, easier said than done. Seems like Maude is more realistic about this than Allgood, who thinks he is just a guy in a panda suit.

Allgood’s society is for the preservation of “human” values. But what values are being upheld and to what cultural standard? Take different foods, for instance. Some cultures have monkey on the menu while many other cultures view it as one step away from cannibalism. Step closer to “normal” with eating grasshoppers and crickets. and there will still be arguements. In our won culture, consider eating Kosher and non-Kosher foods. People will still hold to conflicting standards. Human values change over time. As a young child I was encouraged to use the correct “hand” to eat and write with. Didn’t work. I’m still a leftie. I am “hard-wired” against the “Human values” of the 1950’s.Some people are ambidextrious, some people “choose” to go against what they are and some people are hard wired and not good at changing at all. Maude is who she is and that’s all good.

The irony is that I’m so mad at this fool that I’ve almost forgot that he’s a pawn in a larger game. If the High Council setences the ladies to death there will be a lot of angry people in Endtown and Octavious Allgood will be the only publicly known person associated with the persecution. The thing is Aaron is such a skilled storyteller that I will probably feel sorry for that jerk when this blows up in his face and Velda hangs him out to dry.

Late to post. Been busy with West, Texas disaster. Got sent down right after occurred. Still looking for survivors and the less fortunate. Home for a bit but due to go back later after resupply and decompress. To today’s story. You know what would really do Allgood in after all this falls apart in his face? REALLY MAKE HIM FEEL BAD!!!! Forgive him.Don’t let the anger take over your “human” side. Vengeance is self destructive. It is emotion based. You can be mad but get over it. I did NOT say forget what he has done. So a punishment is due. Time to reflect on his actions. One must be held accountable.(and chunk small stones at him occasionally lest he forget)

Yesterday I said that the High Council had a member who has no problem whatsoever with falling in love with a woman who had mutated into a rhinoceros. Our pal, Al.Since he was able to head over to the newspaper and give them corroboration concerning the High Council being corrupted, then perhaps it is safe to say that his month-long “service to the Council” is up. In fact, he was last seen at home with Gustine.OK… Let’s go with that. He’s no longer on Council Duty. So what can he do now? What if he and Gustine went to testify? And suppose they were to bring Petey along as well?Come to think of it… Whatever happened to that brain that was in the transporter during Petey’s mission with Wally, Holly and the late Captain Flask? If Mallard had finally managed to create a robot body for her, too, then maybe Mallard did do something for this situation, after all.

“West is a small town about 20 miles north of Waco on IH35. "The explosion was near West? Sigh. I used to lived in Dallas, and my wife was going to school at the UT in Austin. I’d make the drive between Dallas and Austin every 2-3 weeks to visit her on the weekends. West was my half-way point, and I’d stop at the freeway exit to get gas, coffee and an occasional pastry. (I visited Waco once or twice – nice place, but not a lot of reason to play tourist on a regular basis.)As everyone else is saying – stay safe.
