The grand jury report in the case of Kermit Gosnell, 72, is among the most horrifying I’ve read. “This case is about a doctor who killed babies and endangered women. What we mean is that he regularly and illegally delivered live, viable babies in the third trimester of pregnancy – and then murdered these newborns by severing their spinal cords with scissors,” it states. “The medical practice by which he carried out this business was a filthy fraud in which he overdosed his patients with dangerous drugs, spread venereal disease among them with infected instruments, perforated their wombs and bowels – and, on at least two occasions, caused their deaths.”
This one tells it like it is. No matter your political stripe, there is absolutely no justification for Gosnell being anything but a dangerous butcher.
This story has been widely covered in liberal enclaves, but “conservatives” wouldn’t know. They only know that Fox News tells them that it’s not being covered.
All over in Canada, maybe. I doubt you have any facts to support your “all over” comment here in the good ol’ United States where it happened (especially at major TV “so called” news outlets).
You got it right, Lisa. CNN is focusing on kitties and fun puppies dancing while the world is going to ****. The mainstream media has a liberal agenda.
From what’s hit the “media” the guy wasn’t a “doctor” in ANY ethical sense, but a total quack, and not just because he performed abortions under deplorable conditions, and did apparently violate law, multiple times.
But the silliness goes on as “pro-life” folks try to equate this crazy with birth control pills, contraception in general, or methods that remove a fertilized egg, which, if “personhood laws” pass as proposed in some states, could include a woman getting drunk, or riding a horse, and having that egg fail to attach to her uterus, being charged with murder.
Well, all things considered, surely the press is doing its job right, if it focuses on the pop-tart story, no?
It’s not the role of the press to hit us with violence-porn. It’s not their role (though sometimes they forget this) to tell us what to think. It is their role to tell us what we need to know.
And sometimes to act as a watchdog, when the judicial branches get it wrong.
So on one hand we have a thoroughly stupid story, but one that does involve an injustice. Assuming that expelling the kid for eating a pop-tart is the wrong action, then we have an injustice and the media should highlight that.
On the other hand, we have a story of an inhuman killer, but the result is that he has been brought to trial. So, somebody please explain to me: What is it that you’re expecting to press to do? If the result of the trial is that he gets slapped with a fine for practicing without a license, then fine, you’re entitled to get outraged. But what is it you’re asking for? Pictures of parents crying? Watching a bad man see his life fall apart? Medical pictures of murdered babies? I would really like to understand it.
This man is a criminal and the Grand Jury will bring an indictment against him. He will not get what he deserves. I am against abortion with exceptions for preserving the life of the mother and in cases of incest, rape and child pregnancy. The "morning after pill is NOT abortion.

The purpose of the wmconelly post was to change the focus from abortion to gun control. If you fall for it then he has succeeded.

No, I’m of the opinion that you are exaggerating again to make a point.
