I’m not a big fan of ANY drug, since I don’t drink, smoke, smoke weed, or take any psychoactive chemical stronger than caffeine, but our policy on marijuana is simply insane, ridiculously costly to the taxpayer, and cruel to a lot of people thrown in prison for a trivial infraction of an irrational law. Time to change.

I have heard that perspective, which appears to be an updating of the 1960s attitude that drugs can bring enlightenment. I am not willing to write off the possibility for some people, but personally I don’t feel the need to alter the normal neurochemical balance of my brain to get other perspectives. Could be because my father destroyed his life with alcohol…

It is well known pot’s better for you than booze, prison or cig’s, but until these industries stop lobbying congress were in trouble. The new DEA head is a fool or bought and paid for, refuses to look at any facts. Portugal did away with all drug laws years ago, abuse stopped, not filling up the prisons, health better. I’m 78, never smoked pot or used any other illegal drugs, you can smoke pot in my house, but not tobacco.
