Ms. Plainwell, Noooooooo..!!!! It’s got to be flowers at least! Every body who has ever had a mom, raise your hand….Was yours as good as mine?…I doubt it. But then again, I’m sure you’d say the same thing..

unless your mother is a self-centered, ignorant, selfish woman who whines about not getting enough attention. who also has a xanax addiction, coupled with a pack a day habit and the alcohol dependence, she can buy her own card.

Good Job, Frazz! One step ahead of his girlfriend’s mother.

Once she hits 80, you have to go visit. Out to dinner. A plus is her bragging rights with friends.

It’s too late for me with my mother, but unless the two of you truly detest each other, don’t waste the chances that you get to be with either of your parents. Just this week comments elsewhere on songs reminded me of how much I miss my mother’s singing. Unfortunately, it is not recorded somewhere. There are days that I really could use hearing some of it.

Do these two ever do anything other than run or bike? I mean a healthy lifestyle is good and all, but doesn’t it get a little boring? Doesn’t Frazz actually perform music somewhere, if only to sharpen his music writing skills? Do they go to movies? a museum? shopping?

Frazz should write a song for his mom. I waited too long, and it ended up looking like this (talk about belated):

    You’re Not There Any More

Verse:Hey, look who’s going to be on TV Tuesday nightI’d better call so you don’t miss it…Oh, that’s right

Chorus 1:You’re not there any moreSometimes I forgetYou’re not there any moreAnd I so regretWe can’t share anymoreAll the things we used to doSomehow, I swear that it’s not fairThat you’re not there

Chorus 2:AnymoreSometimes it slips my mindYou’re not there any moreI guess I need more timeI still care all the moreBut I can’t believe it’s trueSomehow, I swear that it’s not fairThat you’re not there

BridgeAnymore, when I’m drivingAnd I hear our favorite songI think how much I wish that you wereHere with me to sing alongBut all those harmonies foreverLost to me because I’ll neverSing them to myself because They sound so wrong

    Repeat Chorus 1

Kingstonave – what a great song, I love your opening verse.

Miss Plainwell is obviously not good with keeping track of dates. Luckily Frazz knows this & helped her out.

@old dog…you got that right! Only make it seventy….to paraphrase something my dad once said, “don’t wait until she’s eighty, she’ll be too tired”.

It’s a bit hard for me to imagine how Miss P. managed to forget Mother’s Day, when surely she had her little pupils making cards for their moms. Maybe that’s the problem: she was so busy preparing for her students’ projects that she lost sight of her own. Dedicated teachers often work just as much after the school day as during it…

When my son was younger, he would ask what I would like for Mother’s Day. Always told him I had the best gift—him. (he’s a May birthday, born right before Mother’s Day, and now his oldest daughter’s b-day is Mother’s Day this year) Can’t beat gifts like that!

@tech60 Yep, those are some pretty wonderful gifts! My daughter arrived on June 15, which was the day before Father’s Day that year, so she came home on Father’s Day.

What, no condor theme today? Even condors have mothers!

My mom care more about the card than the gift, both for Mother’s Day and birthdays. I once (ONCE) bought her a gift with no card, and heard about it the rest of the day.
