Just wait until the government starts determining your health insurance premium by body weight under Obamacare.

As far as the airlines that do decide to implement this, the free market will determine things. Probably not a good PR move though.

Conserve: Why not? Private companies are already doing this to reduce premiums for themselves. (NPR story yesterday) Is there any difference if the government says "This is a way to cut healthcare costs? And most Wal-Mart employees can’t afford the Wal-Mart health care plan.

In the early days of commercial aviation, passengers WERE weighed before flights as weight and balance were very critical in those early aircraft. Paying “proportional” to what you cost them to operate isn’t supposed to be either “anti-capitalist”, or punitive.

The U.S. is not only refusing the cost savings of “single payer” systems, it’s the ONLY country where the pharmaceutical industry, medical industry, and insurance industry, have “law” on their side to mandate people have to pay the HIGHEST PRICE ON CORPORATE DEMAND, not the lowest, or even reduced prices!

The only real “failings” of the ACA, are what Republicans and corporations wrote in, which make the “affordable” part of the title a bit of a myth.

If the private sector wants to do that, then I don’t have to buy their product. If the government is FORCING me to buy something, I have a problem.

I have no problem with affordable HC, but as soon as the government starts paying for people’s HC with our money(subsidies) they will then become real interested in what you eat, what you do in your free time and many other personal issues.

If you don’t see a problem with that then……..
