The “rational right” was last seen under Ike out in “public”. With Reagan’s “absent without leave” during his presidency, the radicals took more power, even GHW who still had a modicum of intellect left, gave up. In came “W”, and crew, and their pendulum got stuck on that ledge far, far, “stage right”, and the play goes on, with only bad actors in the lights.
