On my last Southwest Airlines flight, there were two passengers who had pre-boarded—a morbidly obese man and his obese wife—and they’d taken the window and aisle seat in the bulkhead, leaving a sliver of space in the middle seat for whichever unlucky passenger might have been the last one on the plane.
That’s why I always try to get on the plane first.
