That last panel doesn’t sound very humble!

So, really, no unicorn’s noticed that “Lord Splendid Humility” is apparently small enough to fit into a trash can? (Or, for that matter, a small bush from the previous storyline?) Compared to all the other unicorns who are all at least Marigold-sized?

Still wondering how Marigold is able to swoon at his withers when no one’s ever actually seen him beyond his horn… :)

You’re exactly right: there’s no humility in calling Phoebe a “mere” anything. Kind of irked me when LSH said it. It’s only cute & funny when Marigold makes her little jabs because that’s who she is and that’s how she sees things.

The word “mere” is not an insult, just a description. Webster’s definition: “1. nothing more or other than; only. 2. unmixed; pure; unqualified; absolute.”That sounds like a perfectly accurate description of Phoebe to me.There has been an intervention of the intervention.Marigold needs to find her own version of humility, splendid has already been taken. She is still working on it.

Sounds like all Unicorns feel like they are above humans. but LSH sounds more like Lord Selfish Characteristic. (couldn’t think of an H word) He DOES NOT want any one to be the trait he is known for. Kind of like if Dr. Who got in to a fight with Doc Brown over who had the exclusive rights of time travel.

I actually applauded LSH’s statement. Yes it is a bit gruff but it shows that he (I’m assuming his gender) is humble, but also has guts. He will stand up for what’s right when the time comes, and that takes real courage and strenght.

Although he needs to give Marigold, and Pheobe more praise. After all, there’s something very rare with those two. Not all of us hairless apes have a unicorn mare as a best friend. We must get the 2nd best with horses.

Ite easy to assume that the others just don’t understand cross species friendship. Of corse, I could be wrong…

Don’t see any unicorn accent marks around ‘human’ or ‘ewwww Man!’. .Without hearing the timbre and volumes on the syllables, I’m reading original intent as a compliment to both. The childlike always is superior to the childish whatever the age.
