Been done. It will look like a “me too” change. Ludwig needs to go back to being the unspoken yet all wise cat.

Arlo, are you sure those voices are really coming from the cat?

Yup at that one moment, Ludwig realized he went too far..First time we see his eyes wide open like that..I still say JJ should release a book with strips main on the cat.

Bad enough you are adding a cat, but adding a cat with no jokes is utterly wrong.Better to add jokes and drop the cat.

For crying out loud, Homer! Ludwig’s been a fixture of the strip forever.

I prefer that Arlo & Janis speak with Ludwig, but he cannot actually answer them. Thought “clouds” around him instead him speaking. He retains his felininity that way! I still like him best as simply a cat! Doing kitty-type stuff!

I wonder if this is what happened to Desperate Housewives, all of the kitties wanted the spotlight.

For those of you who are worried this is going to ruin the strip—I don’t think it’s permanent. They did this once before for a week (that I can remember—they may have done it more often). I’m sure he’ll go back to being a realistic cat again.

I think it’s interesting that Mr. Johnson took a week to have this discussion. I wonder how many requests he received for Ludwig to talk? Never seen a strip do anything like this before. It has been a fun week, even without the color for a few days.

This would be a good Garfield minus Garfield. Or Arlo minus Janis.

I think this strip is about the two couples Arlo and Janis and their Adventures.

This week’s strips are repeats. Very fun repeats, but repeats none-the-less.Ludwig’s look on p.3 is absolutely priceless and gave me a really hearty guffaw!

nz4m60 is right on the money; Luddie’s body language says everything that needs to be said. The strips with Ludwig are some of my favorites. I love the fact that (unlike abominations like Garfield) this cat acts like a real cat.
