Maybe she likes to cook. Nothing wrong with that as long as she’s not expected to do it ALL the time.

@lightenup Maybe you should heed your moniker. Somehow I knew this would happen and some would get offended. sigh

It’s comforting to Fred when she or anyone else is in the kitchen cooking.

If I didn’t cook we’d probably eat sandwiches and spaghetti every night. Plus it’s my way to make sure my hubby is getting enough veggies in his diet. ;)

Plus he cleans up after, most of the time.

What’s the problem? This IS her workstation. Not because she’s a woman and that’s her place, but because her career is that of a homemaker. If you don’t work outside the home, by choice, then your contribution to the household is keeping the house. I know several men who have chosen this option. There is nothing wrong with doing so, most households just can’t afford to be one-income. If you can afford this option, and either one in the relationship wants to be a homemaker, then that’s their career. And it’s hard work to do correctly. It is a respectable and worthy option.

My wife loved to cook. And she was good at it. I did a lot of the prep work.

I cook 2/3 of the time; my wife cooks 2/3 of the time. The overlap? When we eat at different times or we want different menus.
