Well, when you have government secretaries and clerks retiring at 55 with 70k A YEAR until they die, it’s no wonder that state is a ticking time bomb.

That’s what happens when you mix government workers, unions and Democrats in full control.

BTW their free lifetime healthcare benefits are ironic considering it was just reported that Obama-Care will result next year in a 32% INCREASE in monthly health insurance rates for millions of Californians.

What did Pelosi, Reid and friends call it? Oh yeah, The Affordable Healthcare Act………..Ha!

Just like what happened with Hostess. The union got pissed when they found out there was a few million missing from the pension fund.

Riiiiight, because our government fully taking over our healthcare would be so efficient and ccustomer friendly.

Have you been to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles lately?

“The very poor are the permanently unemployed and working poor”

Maybe you should blame the guy who’s been in charge the past 5 years.

“Conserve a moron”: clerks and secretaries are at the GS – 5 to 7 level. A GS 12 step 6 with 32 years of service, retiring in large part for medical reasons at 55, but not a “disabled” retirement, gets $28,000 a year if married. Health insurance is now $480 a month, with raised deductibles, to cover spouse and self (same as if you had five kids), for a GROUP plan. There’s no way a “secretary” (who’s not Schedule C political appointee) makes $75 K a year on retirement.

Now as for STATE retirement funds, might also see how much the employees pay over those working years toward a PENSION, not a Social Security SUPPLEMENT , that was never intended to be a FULL PENSION, and yes there may be higher retirement benefits. BTW, what is the cost of living in some of those areas where retirement pay IS higher?

Based on what evudence do you make this claim? Or is this like one of Obama’s “It would have been worse without….?” claims? In other words, you have no way to prove it.

Why would someone move away from a place with well-compensated workers? Where I come from, we call those kind of people “customers.”

You make a deal on rewards for work, you keep your word to the worker.
