Poor Brian…. Just have one of these with your drink…it’ll be OK….
I don’t know whether this is a comfort or a warning….….. but…. the older you get, the less shocking it may look. Some day, if you’re lucky, maybe you’ll be old enough to just think “Wow, that ol’ gal can kick!”
I work the night shift…. not really full time…but I help supervise so the Monkey can sleep.Fenton is off on Tuesday and Thursday nights…we have a dozen or so tiny monkeys tending bar….
Little monkeys a fireball for Mr. Dogsniff, please…
What started out as a neighborhood gathering of good friends and acquaintances, slowly and imperceptibly grew into what you see today. First they looked for a mission statement; but no one could agree upon one, so that failed. Then goals were set, but no priorities given, so that failed. Next the Garden Club, then the Neighborhood Ready Response Team and finally the Neighborhood Watch withdrew their affiliation. After Mrs. Nimmers changed the name from Go Girls 3400 to Fans and Flares most of the associate members left. Once the dues were spent for seven muted polka dotted dance and prance outfits, everyone quit except Shirley and Marvin’s wife Bette Sue. But even they fell away once Mrs. Nimmers moved the practice sessions from the patio to the basement. No one showed up for February’s auditions. So Stan made some new friends for Mrs. Nimmers and she seems happier for it. There will be shit to pay once Mrs. Nimmers finds out Tuesday’s session was phone videoed and posted on You Tube. Life sure can take some funny twists.
OKAY GIRLS……This way…..One Two Three Kick now pivot One Two Three KickC’mon ladies pick it up pick it up!!!!!!!!(Always wanted to be a choreographer);-)))
Spinach cooks too fast (should have stayed upstairs) but I was watching a serious medical clip before it froze and I popped in to the Tiki. How Flu shots and Omega 6 oils are bad for you. Now I have to look up my chart on content of all the oils in my “Docs” folder. He was giving Safflower as a bad one but it has only moderate Omega 6. Walnut and Almond oils have far more so I may talk to my dr about that, and Coconut and even Butter have less Omega 6 and just noticed Hazelnut (been using in my almond crackers) is about the same as Olive oil that I use all the time. The list has percentages of Omega 6,3 and 9 as well as of the 3 kinds of saturateds and the smoke poins for every one of the oils, edited to fit on one sheet ;-D
To all the Lovely Ladies of Ballard Street:I love you all but… after all the Nina Nimmers kerfuffle today and the glitter spreading and turkey dressing of the last few days, I remember why I am single.Whew ! You all move at the speed of a fast moving jet . You are very hard to keep up with,No wonder poor old Sheriff ( he needs a raise or a rest )Munkeyblues is exhausted and forced to sleep on top of the fridge at the Tiki.Speaking of the Tiki, I am heading there now for a well-earned drink .If any of you would like to join me, I shall be happy to buy you the drink of your choice. See you there…
I’ve got to say good bye to an old friend and secret resident of Ballard Street. Jane Hensen ( wife of the late Jim Hensen ) and Momma of the Muppets passed away today, after a battle with cancer.I had the privilege of knowing both of them in the early and very formative muppet years in New York. She was an amazing and extremely creative woman. Her sense of humor and sense of humanity shall be greatly missed.Somewhere, Kermit and Miss Piggy are singing a lovely duet in her honor.Rest in Peace, Jane. Love Ya !
@Ling, I never knew them but enjoyed the Muppets since they began (may have saved something on the history as also with the Pythons- love good humor)
I finally had my breakfast and pills and will do my workout in my non-glittered swimsuit. I had to have some raw veggies w the omelet as I burnt the spinach and the other 2 small pans are full w leftovers for my lunch. I had some nice fresh cali, cucum and radish. The sweet pepper and sliced 6 cloves of garlic are in my omelet.
And that IS one of the reasons why I’m going to the extreme of going without so many good foods for a whole year. After next Valentine’s I will probably even continue some of the same, but it all depends on my results. I WILL get my blood pressure down without meds and currently have no other problems at 75, and I have a great man who is willing to try much of the same. I’m hoping he will have his doctor check everything first, because most likely he does not need to do it so extreme (his BP is over 120, but never like mine).
Fenton and I are here at Glitter Gulch aka The Tiki Bar with Fenton, and between trying to clean his fur and my beard, neither of us has a kind word for the glitterati !It’s bad enough in the hair, but in my beer or desecrating my good Irish whiskey is a different story !Even my home is covered !!!The only untouched place, ( so far ), is my galleon, The Irish Rover where I plan on repairing to shortly… Sorry Fenton, but there’s a berth for you ,if you want to come out after work .Same goes for Red, whose Piano House looks like a Liberace Extravaganza !Mná deasa Ballard Street, táimid ag nach bhfuil sásta le leat! !
Wow…. how did Stel get a photo of Mrs. Nimmers’ showgirls from the BACK??
I’ve tried walking around my monitor, or swiveling it when I had a swivel stand, LOTS of times…but I couldn’t see the backs of any toons.
And from what I hear….. from the back you’d be able to see all the pins and guy-wires, and everything that keeps the characters and props in place…including wooden stands and bases, and miles of masking tape.
Not just for plywood dancers like in Stel’s snapshot, but ALL the characters!
In any case, I haven’t been using any more than my normal amount of glitter…it’s certainly not enough to cause the glittery air and shiny dust we’ve been seeing around here for the last two or three days…I’m thinking maybe with x_Tech away, something has gone awry in the glitter production facility at XTI…X!… have you checked the factory?
Has there been a glitter explosion?
Personally, I think it’s kinda pretty….and of course, all XTI glitter is eco-friendly….edible, breathable and biodegradable….though I realise it can be a nuisance in the wrong places.and it’s expensive stuff to waste….
That reminds me…. Brian…. when you get here….I don’t want to forget to reassure you that Marg and Susan’s Ultra Super Strength Brain Bleach ™ is gentle and temporary.
It does NOT cause brain damage, or even have any permanent effect….except for erasing undesirable images, including mental pictures, from your brain for a day or two…. usually long enough for you to forget them naturally.
If a partial image remains, another dose will further dim it… or you can choose to remember it fully.
It also protects against further onslaughts while it’s active, so that you don’t need to overdose in order to miss repeatedly objectionable displays.
I’m up late again and having my herbal tea, thanks Fenton!I had my supper just a bit ago and bad to go to bed so soon after chili (can give heartburn). So I’ll finish my tea (maybe even see the turn if it comes early like yesterday.
