Wouldn’t he be looking at the title on the FRONT of the book? The back would normally have some blurb about the author. Unless he’s looking at the front upside down…
The book is drawn from that direction in panel two so you can tell it is a book. If you throw it at someone, you will be charged with assault, no matter what or where the book advises. You will also be thrown out of the store.
