Dick shoots him.

Jumbler: "So your pun was a warning shot . . . "

Dick: “And a parting shot!”

That was some “tuba four”, to bring the whole thing down on them.

Sam is fine, he landed on the pile of comic books!

I believe that was a crowbar.^^I think it’s his cane, the same one he uses to deploy his laughing gas

I dunno. Sam’s comments were a tad nicer than what one might expect after being knocked down by a collapsing building. I would expect more of, “I’m fine. Go catch that………..” (You may fill in the blank.)

I’m thinking the renovation of Old Finley’s Pharmacy did not extend to this hidden room (I have no idea, BTW, why a pharmacy would have a hidden room), and so the wooden supports and beams are all pretty rotten old wood that even the Jumbler could tear down without superhuman effort. That’s probably why Sam isn’t badly injured, too: the old wood is rotted and soft and not too hard a blow to him when it crumbles ….

Has Dick Tracy become the old Batman TV series reincarnated? First we had a character who resembled the Penguin and I believe was supposed to be his brother. Now we have a villain who sounds like the Riddler.

The story thus far: $50k from a Renaissance fair is “peanuts” and stealing comic books of (as yet) undetermined value seems hardly the stuff of a Major Crimes Unit. Pressure from the mayor helps feed conspiracy theorists thinking that she’s shady.

My take is, perhaps this is the vehicle for reintroducing Moon Maid. Surely, Jumbler is a petty crook – and, so far, Moon Maid has been dispatching petty crooks. What better way to bring her back?

Thanks to links provided by others on this page, we now know that Joe Staton was an artist for Archie at a time when Archie was running a version of Dick Tracy on Saturday mornings – and that Dick Tracy also featured Moon Maid.

What goes around, comes around.

I suspect that once Moon Maid is back, she will be back for good. I don’t see a point in knocking her off a second time, even to “save” Junior’s marriage to Sparkle.

Add to that, seeing the tears shed for Measles – and he wasn’t a hero, or even a major DT criminal from the past!

So, when all is said and done, I suppose the only question left in my mind is: Once Moon Maid is back, will Honey be allowed to display her “horns” once again?

I’m a little confused about the perspective here. Yesterday the “hidden room” appeared to be on the same level as the main floor of the store. In today’s first panel the three characters appear to be in a basement with stairs leading to an upper level. In the middle panel Sam and Dick appear to be on the same level with Sam falling through the floor to a level below and Lizz is on a level above the two of them. In the final panel Sam is laying at the foot of a set of stairs and Dick and Lizz appear to be on the same level, above Sam looking down on him. I know the artist likes to change viewing angles and points of view but I’m having trouble sorting things out in this strip. Can someone walk me through it? :-)

Good morning all. While the story the past few days has been drawn & colored exceptional well (I.M.O, I can’t find anything to complain about! How in the world did I become to voice of reason??? LOL!) & the dialogue has been OK I can’t help but be reminded of the third season of Lost in Space! S.I.T.O.A.N.M.I

This should go down as one of the most ridiculous items ever perpetuated against a comic strip reader: a man with a can uses it like “Get the hook” to pull someone off stage to gently yank a support beam to collapse a roof on others and not himself (who, BTW, was standing directly under said support beam? WTF???What awaits us in the next installment: “I’ll HUFF and I’ll PUFF and I’ll BLOW YOUR HOUSE DOWN?”

Moreover, in Sunday’s strip, he “pulls” on the 2×4 (which is clearly larger than a 2×4) and on Monday, he is swinging at said tuba-four with a wooden cane. Fascinating study in physics, engineering and gravity, don’cha fink?

Too bad SDM isn’t here to explain the story to me; I’m lost.

And he never once said, “I hope that doesn’t offend you, it’s not my intention to do so…”. …I’m oddly offended by that….. cpalmeresq I’m slipping in my old age! I’m sorry if my failure to post with more frequency on the weekends offends anyone, It’s not my intent to do so!!!!!

By the way, I kinda like the puke yellow/green color of panel one. Very good choice! Really brings out the feel of the action! Kuddos!

easy enough sweet betty… sam DIDNT fall thru a hole, Jumbler pulled down a support beam ON TOP of him… what youre seeing is sam semi buried under the fallen wood and tracy and lizz making sure he is ok before chasing Jumbler. theres no hole, sam is just on his back under some lumber thats all

Jumbler just added resisting arrest, felony vandalism, felony assault against three police officers, and possibly three counts of attempted murder to his criminal portfolio. When he gets caught, he should go away for a looong time.

Just couldn’t stop after seeing that!
