Hmmm…. my take is rather opposite…Arthur wants to rev his engine…a symbol for trying to regain the drive he had in his youth…Lillian knows what it means… and is usually a willing participant in his….er…experiments…Right now she’s just being coy…playing hard to get.But it’s actually a challenge…. he hides behind his book so she won’t see the gleam in his eye.
She will giggle and run….but she can only get so far….she’s well aware that he knows where she lives.
It’ll slow down in here again very soon….And I’ll talk to the little guys and ask them to check on one another…they’re very social anyway. That’s what makes them good at this. Then I can get some sleep too.
I’m having my bit of chocolate now (weight is down to 118 now before breakfast) Even with the doctor’s permission, I forgot last night. As I go upstairs, I’m only thinking about my man. He is NOT such a gear head, tho’ he is proud of his various rides. His next one will be another Lincoln like his favs; currently has a Caddie which he hates and can’t wait to get rid of it. To me, a car is something to get me places, and I even wear the keyings that some jerk gave me proudly. He takes very good care of his rides and I’m glad that we share most interests.
He likes to gamble a little time to time but only high stakes and will stop if he gets a few bad hands or wins a little. I watch him play, and don’t even need to see his hands; I know him so well. We also shared many trips to the gun ranges in the day and are both good shots; I’m not good at skeets, tho’.
Susan, I liked your story tonight. I think that Arthur wants to rev his engine, but he is afraid that his sparks won’t catch and he’ll sputter. Maybe if they work together they can get his engine purring. But I doubt it.
Well the leather IS a thought, as his rides have always had leather seats, but the smell of a parking garage brings back more memories as it could be a last brief stop before we both returned to teen aged kids. In this photo (around that time) one of my sons is seated almost cut off with us in the living room.
@Shika, (prob. asleep by now). Thanks, that was another of my murals on the wall and my lover and I from our late 30s. My son was probably in college or almost.

Been waiting for a call from the little monkeys….It was a slow night at the Tiki, so I walked back to do a few quick things at at the salon…
I asked them to be sure and let me know if it got busier.
I’d better get back there and make sure they’re OK.
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Oh, Hi Red!Thanks!
Did I manage to catch you on time tonight?I just got here!
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Oh no, tiny monkey!
Don’t try to do that all by yourself!
Oh my…. I knew should have been here….
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Yes, yes… I know….
Fenton can serve three drinks at once…
But you’re a perfectly fine bartender if TWO of you guys serve ONE drink!
Honestly, it’s very professional.
Really!
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Oh Red…. I knew I should have stayed.
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
They try so hard!I don’t want to make them feel bad.
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
I’m doing OK, thanks!It was a long weekend, somehow….
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
I wasn’t going to drink tonight…. but this scotch really hits the spot….
Soothing, somehow, when I’m tired and little monkeys are spilling red drinks into yellow ones….

Glad you had an easier day at work for a change.:)

SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago

G’night, Red…. and yeah… later… :)
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Before I leave…let’s see… Dmitri’s got the spills handled…The bar is quiet….The little guys promised not to deliver drinks alone….
OH… I think the Monkey’s here… I thought he was out on a gig cos he didn’t come say hello…. but I’m sure the refrigerator doesn’t snore all by itself.
Maybe he’s been up there the whole time…. So he did come in earlier… but he fell asleep.Seems like everybody’s tired….

Haven’t seen Brian tonight…or pcolli in ages.
X-Tech used to be here every night….where are you, X?
While I’m at it…. where are you, Storm? Linda Dean? LadyLavender?DownUnderGirl only stopped by for a second….
Yes, there are lots more…. and a lot who only visit infrequently, so they’re not “missing” when they don’t show up….
At least we had warning when Essex left this time…. hurry back, Ess….
Meanwhile…
Bev…. I guess I’d missed your last comment yesterday….that was quite a cacophony of C’s I saw… ….. If it’s a caffeine-caused condition, avoid coffee,
And in case you’re congenitally corny, (unless you’ve caught a common cold)
I’d consider keeping clear of Vitamin C

What’s she worried about? I don’t see any supercharger and I doubt there are any other mods like a cam, porting and the like.

Into the room, as Arthur has provided no exhaust. I don’t recommend doing that indoors. Going to install a driver to try to fix somin’ here-bye!

I’m going to have a shower so I can turn in early tonight. I’ll try to pop in for a little monkey shine, if I stay awake.
