    Yet another asteroid, this one the size of a football field, whizzed by us on Saturday at roughly 2.5 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon.  While there was no chance of a collision, what’s most disturbing about this is that no one knew of its existence until a week ago. Too little time even to duck, much less take action.

    There was some news-bimbo who asked a scientist if the asteroid encounter was related to global warming. Where DO they find these people?

    It was MSNBC asking Bill Nye.-Somehow, it was even dumber than Fox News saying a freak blizzard disproves global warming.

    It’s not panic. The odds are so astronomically low that it blows your mind.

    Yes. You’re out there alone on this, except for the fact that almost every human being on earth is way too easily impressed by random coincidence.

    Just as you were looking at the car that missed you by inches from one direction, you get plowed by a bus from the other direction. Same, same.

    @realist666

    When more than 95% of the climate scientist say that Climate Change is happening – and happening fast – and that it is most likely due to human activities, then it really is a major concern and must be addressed quickly.

    Has anyone noticed that there is a fiery ball of nuclear death, just 1 astronomical unit away from Earth? And it’s not moving away!

    Except the meteor over Russia was not the most destructive on record. Hell, the 1908 Tunguska meteor/comet/whatever, flattened trees in a 830 square mile area. It was estimated to be about 300 feet in diameter vs the 55 ft one last month. Sorry Jimmy check your science.

    I don’t see how anyone can stick up for either CNN or Fox over the other, or any other news source. They all have to exaggerate and skirt the edges of truth to get viewers. Just accept that and move on..And as for global warming, we all agree that it cycles, but there’s no agreement on how much humans have increased it. But we do need to clean up our act anyway, and stop abusing this earth we share. So, again, agree to disagree and move on.

    Astro_Boy: It also exploded before hitting. I suspect had either hit, it would have been less than the one that dug the hole in Arizona or Yucatan.

    @deerflatener said:“So how does the man-made global warming non-science based hoax actually work?Step 1. Get together a group of scientists who lack any real world scientific credentials.”

    You mean like the people at http://www.climatecentral.org,http://ncar.ucar.edu, etc?

    I guess they don’t count as having “real world scientific credentials” unless they went to Bob Jones University, are mechanical engineers, or serve on the board of the Creation Museum.
