    I can say from personnel experience if dad whore dark socks not allowed to take shoe’s off in house with out washing feet and shoe’s left out side, white socks no problem

    In the summer when it’s hot you do feel cooler in light coloured clothing than dark.

    I make a comment about how black fabric absorbs, and retains, heat more than other colors of fabric, but I see I’ve already been beaten to that punch.

    Check the fabric. It is very easy to find all-cotton (or mostly-cotton) white socks ( very sweat absorbent). Most dark socks are polyester blends that do not absorb perspiration as well.

    Thermodynamic reciprocity says good light absorbers = good radiators and poor light absorbers = poor radiators. That would imply black socks should cool feet better than white socks. White materials are white because they reflect all visible colors instead of absorbing them.

    The more dye in the fabric, the less absorbent it is.

    It is true, black socks make for more sweat,most likely because they are acrylic or polyester, whereas white socks are usually cotton
