From the “Been there, suffered that” file. Take off rings, metal watchbands, all metal jewelry before working on your car/bike/truck. Metal + Battery, noisy, smelly and painful. Happy St Pat’s Day!

Follow the wires back to the battery because the terminals are marked + and -. That way, even if you’re color blind, or the light’s dim, you can see which is which. (Imagine trying to jump-start a car at night.)
