.44 cents a jar? Figure out why you need glass and then fill the store room…

Seriously? Claire is supposed to have a marketing degree and she doesn’t know what a gross of product is?

It really bothers me how inept this girl is. Yes, I know it’s a comic strip, yes I know it’s all done for comedic effect. Good thing she’s supposedly going for a general business degree, because she wouldn’t last five minutes in marketing.

Many years ago, the sole supply guy on a navy sub was sick and another ordered toilet paper before getting underway. He figured out how many individually wrapped rolls they needed for their extended cross Pacific cruise. He was surprised on delivery to discover that a unit was a 64-roll box. The Quarterdeck watch shouldn’t have signed for the delivery before inspecting the truck.

Hey Navy, lucky you got that.

In Uncle Sam’s Army, in 1970, all we got was a small roll of TP in our CRATS kit.

Didn’t help if you got dysentery.

Thanks for your service all G.I.s. Then and now.

She didn’t say what, she said why. Why that many? Why not a dozen? I don’t know. But it doesn’t mean she doesn’t know what a gross is. People read as good as they spell in this comments

Why doesn’t Claire just look up “gross” on the internet?

No, a gross is 12 dozen, or 144.
