sigh Wally’s proverbs were much loftier-sounding in the past.

When we first got our Motorola Bag Phone, my wife said that now I could take it with me while fishing. First I said no, then looked at her and suggested she really didn’t understand the whole concept of going fishing.

I don’t drink when fishing. Hunting bass gets me high enough. Oh … and I catch and release. I haven’t kept a fish in decades.

I can drink beer and pass out with a pole in my hand WITHOUT knowing how to fish.

Not with barbless hooks and gentle handling; it’s as much an art as it is a sport.

Maybe we would have fewer school shootings if more kids hunted and fished?
