Keep wrestling, and yes, eliminate the “pros” from competing, in any events. BTW, when our school system cancelled funding for wrestling, cross-country, and skiing, we formed a parents group to fund those three sports, all three now in the Olympics. However, being the US, the school board DID fund football, and took money from education, not just the three sports we funded as parents, to fund the football program.
It is a shame that commercialism is taking away the true Olympic spirit.
Wrestling is the purest sport of all. It is about strength, endurance, skill, and mental tenacity. One on One. No bad bounces of the ball, no team-mate screwing up, few bad referee calls and no high-tech equipment advantages. It requires the maximum dedication and conditioning to excell.
It is a sport ever child in the world can participate in as there is no expensive high-tech equipment, manicured playing field, tennis court, etc. required (i.e. it is a level playing field.)

Good cartoon. (Unintended pun on Olympic Beer)Wrestling should be preserved. If this “evolution” continues, one can imagine Olympic Video Games.

Why the “Hook’em” sign? Is he making fun of the great University of Texas? Should be an Aggie after our great governor.

Here’s what I would pay to see: when some idiotic sports talking head asks a silver-medal-winner, “Aren’t you disappointed you didn’t win the gold?”
The athlete should answer: “Today, I proved I’m the second-best, out of seven billion, at what I do. Can you say that?”
That would be an Olympic moment frozen in time.

The IOC would rather have present soft core porn with beach volleyball than the 2500 plus year old tradition of wrestling.
