Earlier this week, Taco Bell sheparded me onto a bus with a bunch of other folks, and gave each of us a dozen Cool Ranch tacos.

The point being, I’m good on tacos for a while.

Anyone notice how Trudeau presents a very positive view of marriage and marriages? They have strong relationships, no matter what the situation. Yes, Mike got divorced but his second marriage is strong.

This is a true picture of pregnency. All those urban myths do have a basis in reality. Poor Toggle, stock up on ice cream. It will save your life.

Can you make a vegetarian sandwich? Then you can make a vegetarian taco!Just don’t go to Taco Bell and ask for one, get some soft tortillas and make your own.

You mean like this: Did you ever notice that when you are in a jealous rage while eating a taco, the food smells like Benghazi?

My wife’s cravings were for McDonalds Shamrock and Eggnog shakes. Our middle child was born in July, which meant that I had to fill our chest freezer with these McDelicacies until his birth. There is still a 10 yr old Eggnog shake down there from this time.

Annieb1012 and Newshound41: My apologies to lefties who retain some of our traditional values.

I have grandchildren however, who were incubated within intact traditional families now attending elite universities who are the beneficiaries of the culture which allowed me and other members of my generation to rise from poverty to prosperity by our own efforts without having to rely upon EBT / Section8/ etc.

Unfortunately, they and their peers have been tainted by the progressive education they have received in the public school systems in places like Seattle and Chicago. While they seem to maintain some of the value system their parents and grandparents strove to give them, they have also come to accept in varying degrees the gender, entitlement, and economic theories lavished upon them drop by drop from K to 12 which threatens to destroy what it took western civilization a couple of thousand years to develop.

I hope you are right but in spite of Mr. Trudeau’s seemingly traditional family situation, he is hard at work using his strip as an Alinsky tool to widen as far as possible the gap between the traditional and progressive camps that makes the United States of today closely resemble its historic self in the 1850-1860 timeframe. We know how that one turned out.

GT s the best thing in the world. From Alex’s crazed look when she thought Beyonce was in there to Alex’s new irrational craving for tacos, I’m smiling now like I was in 1970!

@Newshound41Thank you for your detailed response to watashi; I was laboring over one myself, but you have done a great job. I would add that one of the things I most appreciate about Trudeau is his inclusion in the strip of so many facets of the ideological polygon. The characters represent almost every viewpoint I can think of, and, as you pointed out, we’ve seen some of them evolve over the years in the interesting way real humans have of doing that. Many of us have conservative values and liberal views; that’s how I’ve come to see my own outlook. Yes, social programs are often abused; but a whole generation of children were, in effect, abused by the Clinton scandal you refer to. (His declarations as to what does and does not constitute adultery trickled down to some of the youngest among us. In 2002, the headmaster of a private school I’m peripherally involved with found it necessary to send a letter out to parents alerting them to the fact that within the past year their foremost discipline problem had been oral sex. Among the middle-schoolers!)As to the tendency these days to issue blanket condemnation of social programs (such as Section 8 subsidized housing, mentioned by Watashi) I like to think it is possible to balance a strong national work ethic with a strong national charitable ethic, and I think that is what many western nations are trying to do in all their different ways. It’s messy, yes, but the ideal is worth the effort.

The best soft tacos, made in NY Metro area by a Puebla Mexico owner, “tacos de lengua” …tender, succulent boiled veal tongue, with salsa and mexican sour cream, diced onions optional. Divinely delicious.
