I picked up one yesterday. Someone (50-ish) claimed “kids today wouldn’t even pick one up.” I informed him that those of his generation didn’t either. Being a “Depression Baby”, I do.

Someone told me he always picked them up because God’sname was on them and It wasn’t good to leave them in the dirt.

When I was in PT for my bad back, I was continually asked, “on a scale of 1 – 10, how much does it hurt?”I would reply that if I dropped something worth less than $20, I wouldn’t even attempt to pick it up. They got the message.

That is pre- 1982 pennies. They are NOT copper any more. If you want copper, nickles are 75% copper.

I still pick them up. Usually at the 7-11. Found a dime the other day at Wendy’s.

“A penny saved is a penny earned”. Ben Franklin.

Total found in forty years= $5.75.

    Oh well,

    The old Sarge

I was walking through a hardware store about a year ago, and there, right in front of the bolts and screws in the middle of the aisle was a fifty dollar bill. Being the honest Plugger that I am, I knew someone would be looking for it. When I couldn’t find the “loser” I turned it in at Customer Service. They said they would put it in a safe box for 30 days, but my guess is, the two of them probably went out for drinks and dinner after work.
