Our old Doxie (Puddles) always wants up when he sees my husband bring out his laptop. Of course we have him use his doggie steps rather than jump up as he has a bad back and is nearly 14. However Puddles ends up between my husband’s legs with the laptop resting on his bottom.
OMG!!! this is my wiener dog, Heidi, perfect. EVERY time I sit down – with a lap top – she wants to sit right next to it. As I said in the past, Kevin has to have a dachshund as he has their personality down perfect!
I am so glad I have a dog that is too big to sit on my lap, a real dog, if you will. Icky Mudd has the right idea, the 4 legged friends don’t necessarily want to be closer to us, they just want the heat of the device we are using. If we prefer to think it is for love of humans than for basic comfort, so much the better for them.
If either of us is at our desktop, Angel likes to be on their lap. Until the other makes a food sound. Then back in the lap. Then to investigate another food sound. Then back in the lap …
That is my Gizmo…when he thinks I am not paying attention to him, he climbs on top of the laptop. If I tell him NO, he climbs up on the back of the couch and then climbs down my chest and into my lap. Sigh!!!

My four-legged daughter views the laptop as as a mortal enemy, and one that must be eradicated from the human and animal kingdom!
PS: I can never get any work done when the “Yorkie X-Dog” is on the prowl for evil predators.

I have a cat who wants to help whenever I use a computer, desktop or laptop, or even just the remote keyboard for the computer beside the television.
