How would you know what the targeted Americans did or didn’t do? We’re not allowed to know their names or what criteria were used to decide whether or not they were worth killing. Are you really prepared to take the government’s word for it — not just this government, but any government; whoever may happen to end up in power? If so, I’ve got a beautiful bridge you might wish to consider for purchase, just off Manhattan and with terrific views.
Bingo. Republican says something…“Hey, that’s what we need, even if it violates our principles!” Democrat continues with it…“Hey, what happened to the Constitution?!”
The TSC can’t even keep a clean “no fly” list. Once you’re hit by a drone, there’s no appeal. There were military tribunals for the Gitmo prisoners, but they were held in secret & didn’t follow US or International laws & treaties. There haven’t been many politicians interested in Gitmo, other than to oppose moving prisoners to their districts. I have no idea who you think is more worried about Gitmo than Sandy Hook.
Back in January 2009, Obama signed an Executive Order to close down Gitmo. Then he discovered no State was willing to take the prisoners.Let’s hear what you think should be done with the Gitmo prisoners, smart guy.
Those who live in foreign lands, and have renounced their American citizenship (naturalized at that) and take up arms, or command those who take up arms against the United States, are NOT “Americans” OR citizens any longer, but traitors, who have born witness against themselves on “Youtube” or other public sources.
I do NOT like the expanding use of “drones” within our boundaries, for a lot of reasons, including safety of air space, not just the “privacy”, which isn’t actually specifically guaranteed in the Constitution. But no, I don’t like warrantless searches, whether with aircraft, or thermal imaging, or any other modern technology the framers couldn’t have come close to imagining, like a 20mm Vulcan cannon as an example in another “rights” issue.
When you try to kill me, as an American, or my friends, for that reason alone: YOU are fair game in my book, wherever you are. BUT, we must be selective and appropriate in the methodology.

The targets are terrorists, not Americans. They seceded when they joined al Qaida which has declared war on the U.S.
