Things are about to blow up. Mole vs Sweaty — I’m curious who would win that fight. We may find out from the looks of it.

Let me clarify my first comment. True, I am concerned for Toad’s safety.

However, upon further reflection, I am still not 100% sure whether Simon is good or evil.

Of course, no matter how strong Mole is, if the kid gets in the car, he can’t possibly catch up; he was never much of a runner to begin with

I’m not liking this at all. Anything could happen. There might even be someone laying down in the back seat to grab Toad. I don’t think we’re going to see a Mole vs. Sweatbox right now, but later…..

OK, I’m going to have to revise my previous day’s assessment of the situation…obviously, Mr. Baux is up to no good! If he was innocent of motive, the packets would have come out the front window with the flyer.

A brief, shining moment of hope he might not be that creepy and then…oh, crap.

If it comes to a hoedown, all my money is on Mole.

Yup. “I got a bad feeling about this” does cover the situation. Simon says, take a packet from the back seat. Sisyphos says, run, Toad, run! Mr. Mole says…. No; Mr Mole does.Mr. Mole will save the day (and Toad)!

just another comment here… if (and when) toad gets nabbed by sweatbox and his co-hort… if mole DOESNT stop them from taking her, i’m betting she’s gonna at LEAST drop the flyer on the ground to give mole a clue to bring to tracy… and “dollars to doughnuts” theyre SOMEHOW gonna find sweatbox in possession of several kidnapped children in softball uniforms. can someone go back to when sweaty first appeared (or close to it) when he asked noah “how the team was doing”? i cant remember the reply, but it COULD have been “code” for sweaty wanting to know how his captives are doing. i’ll stick with my original idea from a few days ago that sweaty is kidnapping and murdering young children to form his own “afterlife softball team” to keep his brother company in death… which would explain all the skeletons and corpses in the baux vault… and i would imagine that the vault itself will more than likely be torn down afterwards.

And besides, what would be his motivation to kidnap Toad? You don’t just all of a sudden start to kidnap children off the street. Not even Jerry Sandusky did that.

“. . . sure Mrs Spencer" (?)Like a STEP back ? Thought Mole had gone to the trouble of finding out her first name, and then - moved in a bit closer by calling her - Rose (1-12-13) ?Some of us had begun to think that a little ’ ole people ’ romance was begining there, and expecting Little T, might soon be calling him – Daddy !But I guess, he’s had a ’ Nose ’ for these things, and realized – it just wasn’t going to happen ! ? ;- )

Were you thinking of a Lincoln Continental? The 1963-1969 Lincoln Continental came with suicide doors. The only Cadillac’s with suicide doors were the 1957 and 1958 Eldorado Biarritz sedans.

I read Mrs Spencer as Mrs Fencer and thought she had survived that random tornado.

I’m concerned about Mole. He is either taking on the Plentys’ role as “model” citizens, or this is a good-bye to him.

I want so badly for SB to turn out to be just a good ole boy. But now I don’t know. Too many signs point to a big can of worms. If he is not a super evil …. We’ll all be surprised. If he is a bad guy I’m sure that Mike & Joe will show justice. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Sometimes, both in fiction and real life, a series of unconnected circumstances are actually linked. This occurs when the evidence is examined and information from two (or more) different crimes lead back to the same person(s).

Why do I get the feeling today’s cliffhanger is going to be a big red herring? Who wants to lay odds that there really are packets in the back seat and the human waterfall here really does plan on sponsoring Toad?

Chester Gould had several famous kidnappings over the years – Junior more than once, Sparkle Plenty, Bonnie Braids, Baby Waldorf – maybe Team Tracy IS setting us up for a snatch in the Gould tradition.

I must say I don’t think I have seen a potential villain in a Dick Tracy comic played this close to the vest. Usually we the reader know the villain is up to no good nearly from the get go but with Baux until now was a total question mark.

I think Toad is my favorite character that Team Tracy introduced us to (my second favorite being Blackjack). I can imagine that IF Toad is kidnaped, that at the end of the story, she’ll be found safe and sound, well taken care of, having the time of her life, and wondering what all the fuss is about. I still think she’d be a great playmate for Honeymoon, and am still waiting for such a meeting (unless Honey is portrayed as a pre-teen?).

Mole address everyone as Mr. or Miss or Mrs (he’s very proper) except for the kids, no matter what his familiarity is with the person. So him addressing Mrs. Spencer as such, comes as no surprise.

I did like the Toad Tracy drawing. well done! very cute :)

I am enjoying the twists and turns that this story is offering. Really really good stuff!

Mole climbs to the surface to call Toad to dinnerSmiling to think the poor kid’s such a winnerNever suspecting the tyke’s in imminent dangerTrusting and kind, she spoke with the strangerWhose pores produce sweat like Niagara FallsHe belongs in a cage behind four concrete walls.Should Mole be in time, he’ll show Sweat Box real powerHis big heart and strong hands mean more than the hoursThat Sweaty works out on machines in the gymIf caught harming Toad, it’s lights out for him.Yet is Mole in time? Is Toad saved by the dinner bell?Or shall another sick mind make life living hell?An abducted child needs fast help from the prosChance for a tragedy with each hour growsCalling Tracy and Ebony to little Toad’s rescueA child in peril is in need of both of you.

The Dick Tracy comics strip cannot have such low standards.

If the Dick Tracy comic strip continues with this storyline the Tribune Editors most certainly will censor it. You cannot portray a young child IN DANGER of an adult predator in a nationally syndicated comic strip, which is what Dick Tracy is. It’s not a gag a day go comics strip. These Dick Tracy staffers are surely setting themselves up for censorship by the Tribune Syndicate.
