In fact, the stricter the gun control, the lower the deaths by handguns. Even Tombstone, Arizona made people check in their weapons in the days of the OK Corral!I DO like the idea of stricter permits and licenses, because that’s freaking common sense, but don’t tell the NRA leadership.And even if all your ideas worked perfectly, 70% of the handgun deaths in the US are not by “convicted felons” or even criminals. Most are by law-abiding citizens who either shouldn’t have guns in the first place, or are inept in their handling thereof — because the laws don’t properly control who should have access to a gun.Not to mention the fact that having a gun in the house multiplies the chance that someone will die by that gun, whether by accident or deliberately.

There’s a lot to consider there..Personally, I would prefer “Open Carry” so that would-be attackers could see what they’re up against.
