For some reason, the last panel is hilarious and I just love it!

I remember reading the first line years ago and thinking that the name of our hero must be “Megazorks”. Then I realized that it was a million “zorks”, a unit of distance.

And the only point is that I must really love this strip if I can remember what I thought when I read it in the 1980s.

When I was his age, I thought slides were boring— climb to the top, slide down, ride’s over in about three seconds. But swings!!! That was like flying, and it lasted as long as you wanted it to!

One of the moons of Gloob is a stuffed olive?

Bill Waterson could have wrote some interesting stories for Star Trek.

Calvin exaggerates a lot. Lol

I guess playground equipment is safer today, sometimes to the point of being ridiculous. I remember jungle gyms, see-saws whose pivot point you could adjust, merry-go-rounds with unlimited speed. The padding around these was sawdust, with the rest of the playground being pea gravel. Insurance companies of today would have fits.

I think slides have safety matts at the end and swings probably have governors on them and matts.

Calvin is tasting victory.

Wait——why’d we suddenly jump back to 1985?

some people love jumping out of airplanes. some others love doing a halo jumps.

My grandson has Pewm guns(PEWM, PEWM, PEWM), which are different from my BLAM guns.

When I was a 6th grade hellion, we iced the slide and continued the ice for about 30 feet after you hit the ground. Great fun for us, the little ones were a bit upset (as was the administration). Slides didn’t scare me, hanging upside down on the monkey bars was impossible tho.

Considering the way Calvin sees things, Miss Wormwood is probably 28 years old. (Love the frown on the alien ship – reminds me of a Jeep!)
