“Jonah” — I believe that’s the first time we’ve heard the name of Sweatbox’s assistant. I’m still wondering what Jonah was doing at Lowery’s when Tracy, Lee, Mole, etc., were all there (Jan. 24 strip). I guess it’s possible that it wasn’t Jonah, but it sure looked like him.
Umm; no, Sweatbox, your brother Stephen is not the only one laid to rest there (I wouldn’t say “interred” for a mausoleum). So,Lee, put the heat on him and see how much you can sweat out of him….
mikeyj, i may be partial, but lee ALWAYS looks beautiful! :) and as for who is in the baux-box… maybe someone has been dumping bodies? it IS relatively close to mole’s hotel… maybe they are some forgotten murders of his from years past? tho thinking about it, i would rather go with mdstudio’s idea that it MAY be th eperson responsible for the murders…either that, OR it was the person who was murdered? can wait to find out!
I’ve threatened to go and buy one of those lockboxes for our thermostat at home. It seems the wife can go from a cold spell to hot flashes in 5 seconds. Goes with the territory.
" If only told a detective is here to see you I would assume the detective was male & say let him in. I accept that would be sexest and wrong & will try to change to a generic let em in."*************************" ‘em" is a contraction of “them” so if you were told “a” detective was there the plural “them” wouldn’t match the singular “a”. If you’re going to go the PC route you would have to say, “let him or her in”, which would be cumbersome. It might be easier to say, “let the detective in”.
Time out, you two! As for SB having a wife or a partner…. My guess is no one would HAVE him, either way… he must smell like a skunk that was beaten to death with a salmon
We may have discovered the reason for all of the dead bodies in the Baux family vault. They are all of the people who kept turning the heat back up!Mikeyj, I think Sweatbox has a bit of cash. The guy has a butler and a personal trainer, as well as a well equipped gym in his home. Not exactly your average old retired serial killer. He may have a few women interested in him just because he is old and rich, despite how he smells.
It should be pronounced Bo as in the French town of Le Baux de Provence. However Americans tend to mangle (or they would put it) Americanize pronunciations of French words. The name actually has Provencal roots, the word Bauc (and there’s a squiggly bit under the c that I can’t reproduce here) which means “rocky spur”). Bauxite draws its name from Le Baux de Provence, where the mineral was first discovered and mined.

With the Tracy tradition, I would have thought his brother would be named Phil or maybe Loch. Does he have a sister named Jewel?

Lee’s earrings are very ancient Egyptian in style; as for Sweaty, I think he is lying through what’s left of his teeth.

Lee looks particularly beauteous, in profile,in the last panel

I wonder if a portion of those remains belong to the person responsible for the murder that Stephen was imprisoned for.

My guess is that the thermostat is always at about 50, but , Jonah pretends to change it, just to keep SB happy

I can’t C&P the post Tarry, but, that was hilarious!!!
Yeah, he’s rich, no doubt on the bodies of his family (He is the last Baux, after all)
