Cathy: I can close my eyes and see our future exactly, Irving. Irving: What do you think it will be? Cathy: It's not what I think. It's what I know. Irving: You can't know. Cathy: Yes I can! Some things women just know. It's female intuition... Precognition... A deep connection to my creator... ...I just KNOW. I know EXACTLY what will be! Irving: WHERE WERE YOU ALL THOSE TIMES I WAS TRYING TO BET ON FOOTBALL?!!

Why do you have to make an appointment to see a psychic? Don’t they already know when you’re going to come?

Cathy has obviously never heard the expression “Man makes plans and God laughs.” My life has turned out nothing like I would ever have envisioned. I never thought my husband would begin to have disabling health issues just a few years after we were married. Our plans were for me to take a few years off and have kids. Instead I wound up being the breadwinner and couldn’t have kids because of issues of my own. Sorry, TMI, I know.

“Woman’s intuition” isn’t for sporting events or horse racing, unless you wager against them. Then it is spot on.

Wow, I missed a great week. From last weeks strips and discussion I think society took a turn for the worse after my parent’s generation. My mother was a stay at home mom and I am very glad she was. It is too bad that both my wife and I had to work (except for two or three years after each daughter was born when my wife stayed home) to support ourselves. Back when I was teaching elementary school I, and other teachers, could tell when a student had one parent at home, no parents at home, or lived with relatives or foster parents. With few exceptions a student’s behavior and attitude indicated their living conditions. I suspect a lot of the issues in today’s world could have been avoided with having a parent at home during the formative years. Sometimes relatives and strangers don’t provide the necessary leadership. Yes, I know. There are many people whose lives were bettered by not being with their birth parents.
We had a fantastic week at Walt Disney World – yes, Mickey, Minnie, and the gang are doing fine. A bit of a shock going from our weather conditions to the hot, very humid conditions in Florida. Did not slow us down much though as we had already planned for a break every afternoon for a swim, nap, or both. Coming home was a mess though. We almost were not allowed to board our flight back to Canada as we had trouble with timing and did not get the necessary forms filled out online for the Canadian government. We had two airline staff helping us get everything done so we could check our luggage before the computers shut down for our flight. We made it by about 2 minutes. Rather stressful. Thankfully getting to the States was far easier. Ah well, we know what to expect for next time – which won’t be for a while now.
I hope everyone else enjoyed the last week and are looking forward for a good week to come.
