I had a roommate who worked out weekly with an Olympic track coach. She told me she wanted to lose ten pounds, even though she looked great, seriously svelte and fit.
“You want to lose ten pounds?”
“Yes”
“Don’t care how you look?”
“Right”
“Cut off your arm.”
At least, she never came whining to me about being overweight again.
Maybe they mean 10 British pound sterling lighter – although that would be an inexpensive suit.
I missed most of yesterday unfortunately. We were awakened at 4:30 in the morning as the neighbour’s house was on fire. Fortunately no one was hurt and the fire was confined to the back deck where it started. Although the outer wall of one room was burned through and the insulation melted in one spot, the inner wall was intact and the fire did not spread any further. Other that that one location the damage was limited to the outside of the house. A rough estimate of 40k to repair the deck and wall. The sad part, the deck was just completed last summer after collapsing because of snow load 3 winters ago. The fire was out by 6:00am but it was really difficult to get back to sleep after that. The family got lots of offers of places to stay while their house is cleared of the smell of smoke. We have that kind of neighbourhood. This is not an experience I ever wanted to live though but am really glad nobody was hurt and damage was relatively minimal. It could have been a whole lot worse.

I think it meant paler, as in less dark. It’s like an anti-tan. (I’m kidding for those who need to me to clarify that)

Anyone else find it utterly ridiculous that anybody would think a bathing suit would make you look 10 lbs lighter….
