Why does this mature, married woman pick out totally inappropriate clothes?

I’m all for teenagers wearing different things to express their creativity. I’m sure we all have pictures from our teenage years that make us laugh and cringe, and that’s fun. In that light, the outfit isn’t too bad. However, on Cathy, who is not a teen, the outfit is well, laughable. Although the boxy sportcoat can look good with the right outfit. In today’s comic, I feel like the sales lady is just messing with her… “let’s see what we can get Cathy to try on (or buy) today!” hahaha!

A long duster coat over a floaty dress just past the knee might work.

A quick look at Cathy standing there, hands on hips, looks like she is wearing panties, no top at all under the jacket, and a scarf around her neck ; D

I don’t think Cathy has the right body type for a sequined mini. And I agree with O-kay – there is no way I want to be 17 again – unless I could remember everything I have learned since. Hmm, to be specific, 17 year old body, yes, 17 year old brain, NO!

I’m 73 and can still be creative…but mini-skirts were only fun once and if you wore them the first time around, you shouldn’t try it again. I actually did enjoy my senior year of high school…senior trip, prom, working for the counselors etc. And I enjoyed wearing mini-skirts and all that went with them.
