Mrs. Hillman: Woe is me! Woe is me! Woe is me! Irving: You need to get out of the house, mom! Focus on someone else! You won't believe how much better you'll feel if you redirect all that energy toward other people in the world!! Mrs. Hillman: Woe is me!! ...You're right! I DO feel better! Mr. Hillman: Now my throat's all scratchy!

I wonder if they are to young to go to the senior center for Bingo. Bingo is great.

Wow, I feel like I should accuse Cathy Guisewite of spying on my parents. This is what they did for the last ten years of their lives.

These people are a real downer! Irving is a smart man. He needs to figure out a way to get rid of his parents and get them back into their own home.

He should have changed the locks while they were outside.

I agree with Irving in that if one is feeling down, doing something for others usually helps to take your mind of yourself and provide a new perspective on the situation. Maybe he should sign them up for some volunteer work.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Friday! Have a great day, all!

Maybe if they counted their blessings…Wait! They don’t have any…or so they think.

“Woe is me!”??? What on earth does she have to “Woe is me!” about?!? With all their savings gone, you just know they’re living rent-free in their son and daughter-in-law’s house where C&I are the ones that have been buying and paying for everything over the last 6 months while his free-loading parents sit around all day watching t.v. (which has now turned Irving’s already bat-crap crazy mother into a stark-raving-mad hypochondriac too!) and don’t appear to be lifting a finger to help either one of them out in any way, shape, or form in order to “earn their keep.” No: yard work, dog-walking, errand-running, cooking, cleaning, laundry ….. nothing! So what is there for her to POSSIBLY complain about? I only wish that I was as lucky to have it as completely “made” as she does! :-/

At their age they have money coming in. Two Social Security checks, and his retirement. Kick them to the curb.

As many pointed out today Irving’s parents have it made and have no reason to ever leave. It is up to Cathy and Irving, well Irving mostly, to give them reasons to leave. No work = no food is a good place to start. Although by the looks of both of them they could go without food for quite a while. Maybe hit them where it will hurt the most – no work = no TV.
And another weekend starts – soon. The snow missed us again but we have had a steady rain since last night. Parts of my lawn are now under water as the clay under the topsoil is now over saturated. Just hope it dries up a little before the frost sets in or it will be a lot of damage by spring. I hope you have sunshine and get to enjoy it today – and over the weekend.
