I think the American shopper is confused by the whole idea of dickering and/or horse trading.

Oh jeez, a week of Irving’s insecurity battling it out with his machoism. Eye roll.

Hello Cathy friends! Happy Monday! I’m back in town, for good this time, because school is starting next week. My trip last week was enjoyable, mostly because I met GretchensMom in person! She’s just as beautiful and kind in person as she is in the comments! ♥︎ Have a great day, all!

Big box stores kind of killed the bargaining part of the sale. Just try to haggle with the cashier. You will probably get some really weird looks. Home and car sales seems to have kept the idea of bargaining. I am with lightenup, would rather pay reasonable fixed price than play a game I am not very good at.

Now I am jealous – I would love to meet Gretchen’s Mom and lightenup too – along with everyone else who hangs out here as well of course. I am happy for the two of you though. I am glad you arranged to meet.

It’s like a case of good and evil here. Of course, which is which is another matter entirely.

This one also reminded me of a relevant clip from “The Big Bang Theory” …

Just had to buy a new car because someone smashed into the side of mine while I sat waiting for her to turn into a parking lot so I could pull out. Someone hit her from behind while she was making the turn and I think she just freaked and lost control. Otherwise, we can’t figure out how she even managed to hit me. At least my car was old, so it was totaled, but it’s still a pain…insurance, police reports, test driving, fighting for a CD player (and yes, I got one installed by the dealer), cleaning out the old car, watching them haul my little Fiat away, etc. She was driving a brand new (less than 100 miles on it) Cadillac which, of course was damaged both front and back. The guy who hit her had to have his car towed. Nobody hurt that I know of, so I guess I should be thankful, but I could have done without 22 days of hassle.
