Cathy: I wouldn't mind paying taxes if I knew the money was going to help people in need. Accountant: It is! This year, your tax dolars are helping the "line 47" people! Cathy: Excuse me? Accountant: The people at the I.R.S. who are dealing with the "line 47" fiasco. The new tax cut legislation is so convoluted that everyone's filling "line 47" in wrong. The I.R.S. people working late to send out error notices need snacks. You're buying their snacks!! Cathy: Not those people! I don't want to help those people!! Accountant: How about the "line 41" people?? They need some big-time antacids this year!

I don’t mind helping the IRS people so much. It’s the Congress people who passed the taxes and get so many undeserved perks that I really hate helping.Good morning, specinss, Susan, shyygirl, Macushlalondra, GretchensMom, catsarge, lindz.coop, rgcviper, Teresa, hendelca, kittycatpawsare and the rest of the Cathy clan! This reminds me to call my accountant friend today…I haven’t been called to pick up my finished papers and time is getting very short! Must mean I’m getting a refund, right???

We just mailed our taxes yesterday. Hopefully none of our money went to help the people at “Line 41”, “Line 47” or any other “Line’s” at the IRS . . . and I certainly hope NONE of it went to any of those jerks in Congress either. lightenup is right: those people already get enough undeserved perks as it is!!!!! :-(

Hi Cathyites!! I am happy to pay taxes to feed the hungry, house the homeless, fix the roads… Fly the do-nothing congress in and out of Washington — not so much.
