Other than the obvious crack on how much she eats, the cost of food is going up and it’s only going to get worse. Demand for food is increasing, farmland is decreasing, there is a drought over much of the midwest, which feeds a lot of people, and other costs are increasing. Good morning, Cathy clan!!
The grocery store isn’t the only “market” where Cathy is losing all her money. There’s also the clothing and shoe departments at the local mall that’s taking it too! She needs food to live so that can’t be helped. But constantly buying more clothes and shoes when her closet is already busting at the seams as it is? That’s just the sign of an out-of-control shopaholic!!!!!
Hi, rgcviper!
Hello and Happy Tuesday fellow “Cathy” fanatics! Hope everyone’s having a nice day today.
Hi Cathyites!! The cost of food is ridiculous and I can’t imagine how people who are earning minimum wage can afford to feed their families. The film “A Place at the Table” explains why so many Americans who live near or below the povery line are fat. That doesn’t account for Cathy’s problem tho;)

Write your Congressman and ask him about the Boskin Commission.

Cathy spends more on food than I do for a family of four, plus a couple pets.

My first thought was yet another [eye-roll].
But then, I realized how true this one can be. Oops.

Wait until they change from the rate of inflation to the chain weighted consumer price index. We’re gonna love that!
