In actuality, (especially considering just how poor the US was in comparison to its potential enemies) the second amendment was written to have citizen militias on call to be able to protect the government of the US itself against potential enemies both external and internal.

Which is exactly the opposite to what you are posting!!

Typical liberals with no historical information. You should ask for your money back from the supposed educational institutions you went to.

I think @Tigger is referring to this article. I don’t blame that state’s government for doing so, given the rep of some of the residents….

Not as dumb as posting one personal attack after another…and then crying about how you’re being ‘picked on’ when the mods come down on you for it.

The constitution has rather specific language against the kind of treason that 4my endorses.

Threatening to kill or injure someone, when you have the means available, constitutes “assault” a felony, and grounds to remove a concealed permit, and also to prevent sale to the person (if convicted) under the Brady bill. BTW, the Brady bill addresses sellers, but has no penalty for a felon who attempts to purchase a weapon. In fact, it goes to considerable length on how a felon can get his record “cleared”, and also how a person denied a purchase can charge the government agency involved if they wrongly deny the “right” to purchase a weapon!

Ah…. an automobiles principle purpose is not to kill people, but to as safely as possible get them rapidly from one place to another.

Firearms purpose on the other hand is to kill (hopefully game animals, but they certainly can be used to kill human beings very easily).

You do know there IS a difference between them, or do you not?

I say this, and I am nowhere near being an anti gun liberal!

Heh, most of the Democrats of today would be pretty well accepted by the Eisenhower Republicans. Aside from a few tweaks in social stances reflecting in changing times (LGBT issues weren’t exactly a big thing in the 50s).

Who is that clown? Why, he’s the stereotype that leftist bigots pretend represents people who are unwilling to surrender their right to keep and bear arms. He doesn’t really exist, though.
