Gweedo, saw your comment from yesterday. I, too, email with Marg and a couple of others on the site. Some of us originally met at “Winnie the Pooh”. We lost one of our friends when Carmy passed away. She was an amazing person!

You sir, were the first person I “talked” to here at Pibgorn oh so many years ago! :-D

Marvelous Monday to all CAPPERS.The bug is in remission, for now. Hope it stays that way. Feels like April out today. Sixty something and raining. This too shall pass. It’s January after all. I do not miss being sent on a trip to Minneapolis or Fargo this time of year. They would usually sit us until the next snowstorm started. I don’t care what the map says, it ain’t downhill all the way down South.

@Number SixI have a terrible habit of partying like Andy Capp on Saturday nights so I didn’t get a chance to peek at your Mad Capps yesterday. Excellent as always! I’d love to learn more about Buster’s adventures back in the day. (I don’t think the comics were ever available here in the colonies.) Were Andy and Flo kept out of things for the most part? Did Buster have any special friends or sidekicks? And how “realistic” were the stories? In other words, closer to “The Simpsons” or closer to “Family Guy”? I’d love any info you’d care to share.

I put snails in about the same category as raw oysters aka snot on the half shell. At least the escargot is cooked.

I wonder why snails are considered edible but slugs aren’t. I mean, take away the shell and what’s the difference?

Pub food is the best.

Re: snails…..I have tried them but wish I hadn’t – same for shellfish. I would love my friends to try squid, octupus and cuttlefish. the only reaction I get is, “yeuk”. Yet they’ll eat MacD, KFC and Bu**er King. Frog legs OK but pointless..When I say I’ve eaten goat and horse, I get a similar reaction but it’s good if cooked properly.

I wonder if this 96th comment will ever be read by anyone. That’s what I get for waiting until the afternoon to read my comics.

Gweedo, re the slugs, no, I didn’t overwater, the summers were just so humid I think it brought them out! I normally water when needed by laying the hose on the ground for several minutes, move the hose from row to row until there is enough moisture in each row. That seems to have worked for me so far and my water bill hasn’t increased very much over the summer months.

I would eat snails or escargot I like to try different foods for example I’d like to try oysters and clams other than in stew or chowder was that Andy or Flo who said You want me to eat SNAILS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gweedo, actually Carmy emailed me herself after that last Thanksgiving in 2010 and told me she didn’t have as long as she thought she had to live. Then I didn’t hear from her and didn’t hear from her. Our group had contact people set up for emergencies, hers was one of her girlies as she called them :-) She was so proud of “her girlies” she had 4. Mine is one of my sons and as my son told me, “Mom, if something happens to you, I will let your friends know, I promise, but it won’t be my first priority”.

oh yeah Gweedo, you are correct! I was originally Drystyha! My first avatar was my HANNAH BEE who had just passed away, my kitty of 16 years and 4 days. She was a sweetheart! People who hate cats I just don’t understand. All my pets, cats and dogs both have been SO SWEET and loving! *Maybe it says something of the master, if you treat your pet badly, you know? If you show them love and affection they will respond in kind, I believe!

Geez, I am making so many comments here tonight! Sorry folks! There are so many, I have to go back and re-read and post some more! I am trying to address Gweedo, so one more thing, I tried that beer collection thing with the DARN SLUGS! Didn’t work, they loved the beer and moved on! None of the little rat bastar—s drowned! Just ate holes in my Morning Glories! LOL!
